CONCACAF Champions League, Santos Laguna Vs. Cruz Azul: Emanuel Villa Makes It 3-0
On the goal, Aquino was able to find Villa unmarked just inside the 18-yard box. Villa volleyed the shot past the Santos Laguna goalkeeper. The goal was Villa’s eighth of the tournament, second only to teammate Javier Orozco (11).
Up until the goal, Santos Laguna had been relatively dominant, possessing the ball about 60 percent of the time and coming very close to pulling back a goal on at least two occasions. But each time a combination of solid goalkeeping from Jesus Corona and simply mishandling the chances has kept them off the scoreboard.
