For the second straight week, the Chicago Fire were the beneficiaries of a question straight red card. This week, it was Sporting Kansas City Designated Player Omar Bravo getting sent off in the 34th minute. The Fire took the initial lead on the ensuing penalty and ultimately held on a for a 3-2 victory on Saturday.

Despite being a man down, Sporting were able to twice close a two-goal deficit, but were never able to find the equalizer. Matt Besler and Teal Bunbury each scored for Sporting, while Diego Chaves, Gaston Puerari and Marco Pappa scored for the Fire. All five scores came after Bravo's red card.
Pappa’s goal was particularly noteworthy, as he was able to dance through no fewer than four SKC defenders on his way to goal. Pappa received the ball about 30 yards out, dribbled around one defender, split two more and then slotted the ball inside the far post past a diving Jimmy Nielson.
