With his side down 3-1 on the day and 3-2 on aggregate with twenty minutes left to play, Arsene Wenger has been forced into an attacking substitution, removing Tomas Rosicky and replacing the Czech midfielder with the more creative presence of Andrei Arshavin. It's made a slight difference, with Arsenal now threatening on both flanks, but it seems a little bit like they're spitting into the wind on this one - Barcelona are in control and almost certainly not going to concede to ten-man Arsenal.
FC Barcelona Vs. Arsenal FC, 2011: Arsenal, Chasing The Game, Make Some Substitutions
Cesc Fabregas is now off as well, replaced by Nicklas Bendtner, who scored here last season. If he does it now, Arsenal will go through and he'll become a Gunners legend. But with Barcelona in the mood to ping the ball around their own defence for the rest of the match, you wouldn't really expect Bendtner to touch the ball today, let alone score. There's not much time left for Arsenal's Champions League dream.
