David Villa set up Xavi's crucial second goal, but the Spainish striker's involvement in the game is now over, replaced by Ibrahim Afellay with ten minutes to go. The substitute was immediately set through on Manuel Almunia's goal, but while his chipped effort beat the Arsenal goalkeeper, it also beat the far post, leaving the score still dangerously poised, as far Barcelona are concerned. One goal puts Arsenal back in this, so the home side are really looking to kill the match off - you'd put good money on them getting another, actually.
FC Barcelona Vs. Arsenal FC, 2011: Nicklas Bendtner Misses Gilt-Edged Chance
You'd have put good money on Nicklas Bendtner scoring just now too, after Jack Wilshere managed to win possession deep in the Barcelona half. Springing free of the defence, Wilshere managed to square the ball to an onrushing Bendtner, who instead of shooting first time with the goal at his mercy, took a poor first touch and allowed Javier Mascherano to clear. That was Arsenal's one glorious chance, and you'd have to imagine they'll deeply regret not taking it.
