Didn't realize this was really an issue, but apparently David Beckham is telling people that he might play next year. I suppose it makes sense that his return is something less than guaranteed, seeing as this is the last year on his contract and he is 35 years old, but I just can't work up much of a reason to care.

At this point, Beckham is a good MLS player, but not really a great one. He does some things extremely well, like take set pieces, but he plays so rarely that he’s kind of been a non-entity for much of the time he’s been in the league. At 35 years old and already slowing down, there’s no good reason to think he’s going to get any better. This is probably his last, best chance to win something.
But, when David Beckham talks, I do suppose it’s hard not listen. He says he’s only coming back if he feels like he can perform at a high level. He also says he likes the direction the league is moving. Which is nice. Now, let’s move onto things that matter...
