However, The Guardian would like to prove me wrong by pointing out that Bayer Uerdingen came back from a 5-1 deficit to score five goals in the second half against Dynamo Dresden to move on to the semi-finals of the 1985-86 Cup Winners' Cup. Fine, if you want to go getting all unromantic about it, this wouldn't be the biggest triumph in the history of the sporting world. But it would still be thrilling
