Jamie Smith, as predicted, will get the start in the Colorado Rapids midfield in place of the injured Pablo Mastroeni. This almost certainly means Rapids coach Gary Smith will be playing a more attack-minded style against Real Salt Lake, leaving Jeff Larentowicz to handle most of the defensive responsibilities. Tyrone Marshall will also receive his first start of the season at center back, as Drew Moor will slide over to right back in place of Anthony Wallace. The Rapids are also without the services of Conor Casey.
