Parma Vs. Inter Milan: Maicon Left Out, Wesley Sneijder On Bench

Perhaps there are fitness reasons, perhaps Leonardo is still upset with his squad after their performance against Schalke midweek, perhaps Inter are focusing on the Coppa Italia match against Roma, knowing that it might be their only chance at silverware. Whatever the reasons, Maicon has been left out of the squad, while Wesley Sneijder takes a place on the bench, Dejan Stanković coming in behind Giampaolo Pazzini and Samuel Eto’o.

Parma, meanwhile, have put their leading goalscorer, Hernán Crespo, on the bench once again, preferring Sebastian Giovinco and Antonio Candreva with Amauri. And if someone would like to enlighten me as to why, exactly, I’d much appreciate it.

Inter certainly have a point to prove after their 7-3 aggregate thumping at the feet of Schalke. What better way to do so than by trampling over relegation threatened Parma?
