After a frantic period of play in which it appeared as though every player on the pitch was inside the Udinese box, the referee blew the whistle and it appeared as though Napoli had been granted a penalty. However, it was a foul by Edinson Cavani on Udinese keeper Samir Handanovič, and the visitors were awarded a free kick. But before it could be taken, play was stopped because Udinese midfielder Mauricio Isla was down, having cut down Hassan Yebda and injured himself in the process. The Chilean needed to be stretchered off the pitch and was replaced by Juan Cuardrado.
Napoli Vs. Udinese: Mauricio Isla Stretchered Off
Udinese are playing quite well, particularly considering they're missing their two front men, Alexis Sanchez and Antonio Di Natale. The loss of Isla certainly won't bolster their confidence at the San Paolo, however, as the midfielder has been one of their best this season. Yet the strength of the Udinese defense, combined with the skills of Handanovič, might allow the visitors unexpected points.
