Real Madrid earned their first corner of the match in the 20th minute. The cross is cleared out of the box by Barcelona, but falls right to Mesut Ozil whose shot flies harmlessly wide. Disappointing effort from Ozil who surely would have like to test Pinto for the first time in this match.

Halfway through the first half, it continues to be all Real Madrid. They’ve had the better possession, generated the better chances and have looked dangerous twice but were unable to convert on either chance.
Messi is dropping very deep in to the midfield to try to help Barcelona push forward and create some offensive rhythm for the Catalan side. One thing is for sure, neither side is taking a defensive stance in the match as both look to attack. You can definitely tell how important both coaches think the first goal will be today.
Madrid once again feels aggrived by the referee after they feel Mascherano got his foot up to high on a challenge. Replay shows there was nothing there.
First yellow card of the match goes to Pepe in the 26th minute for a foul on Pedro as he tried to break down the sideline. Pepe, an aggressive player, will have to be careful now.
