Colo Colo are 2-1 up on Cerro Porteno at half time in Chile and are full value for their lead, although it could be better to the hosts, who saw Cerro saw a very late goal to halve their lead. The Chilean outfit went up early thanks to a quite magnificent strike from Cristobal Jorquera. The striker collected a cushioned header from partner Ezequiel Miralles, took one touch, and then belted home a cracking effort off Diego Baretto's left post. Within fifteen minutes, they had added another, with Esteban Paredes dinking over Baretto's head after being put through by that man Miralles, who has been the centre of attention so far this match, also picking up a yellow card.
Colo Colo Vs. Cerro Porteño: Hosts Lead 2-1 At The Break
With Santos winning against Deportivo Tachira, Cerro needed three goals to go through, and they got one of them just before halftime when Johnathan Fabbro picked up a loose ball in the Colo Colo area and curled it expertly past Francisco Preito to make it 2-1. Cerro still need to win outright here, though, and they’ve done nothing to indicate that they can manage that just yet.
