A DC United comeback from their 2-0 deficit to the New York Red Bulls always seemed like a longshot, but Joel Lindpere probably just put the match out of reach with a 78th minute goal to make it 3-0. Lindpere got free along the left sideline, went in 1-v-1 with United goalkeeper Bill Hamid, cut the ball back and scored his first goal of the season. In fact, it was Lindpere's first points of the 2011 season as he hadn't scored or assisted on a goal since the final game of the 2010 regular season.
