Juventus may have been the most boring team in the universe last weekend, when they played out a scoreless draw with Fiorentina, but this week they're making the final game of week 34 fairly entertaining. First, captain Alex Del Piero converts a penalty after Felipe Melo was allegedly elbowed in the face by a Catania player (although replays failed to clear up whether a penalty should have actually been awarded). Then it's captiano again, putting in the second for Juve, although this time it was entirely unintentional. Miloš Krasić and Alessandro Matri exchanged passes up the right hand side, before Krasić sent the ball across the face of goal. The ball took a deflection off the foot of Catania defender Matías Silvestre, bounced up and hit Del Piero, racing toward goal. Before Del Piero really knew what hit him, the ball rolled of his chest and into the back of the net.
Juventus Vs. Catania: Alessandro Del Piero Gets A Second. Or His Chest Does, Anyway
Immediately after the second Juventus goal, Alejandro Gómez had a terrific shot, with Gigi Buffon totally beaten. Unfortunately for the visitors, the midfielder’s shot hit the crossbar, thus marking Catania’s best chance at goal.
