For the first ten minutes of the match it looked as though there was zero way Manchester City would go twenty minutes without scoring, let alone a whole half. David Silva hit the post with a beautiful volley in the opening seconds of the match, and Paul Robinson had to be on high alert for shots flying in from more or less everywhere. Joe Hart, meanwhile, had absolutely nothing to do - I don't think the ball actually entered his half until minute eight or so.
Blackburn Rovers Vs. Manchester City: 0-0 At Half Time
But City's dominance didn't stand up and Blackburn have grown into the game (although they're certainly not on the front foot). Chris Samba had a header go just wide of Hart's goal and Jason Robert probably should have earned a penalty when he was fouled by Vincent Kompany in the penalty area. Right now Blackburn are exploiting long balls into the box, set pieces, and the space left behind when City left back Aleksandar Kolarov goes onto the attack. While you'd hardly put any money on the hosts to win this game, they're not doing too badly just yet.
