After winning the Coupe de la Ligue against Montpellier at the weekend, Marseille have put out a first choice team yet again at mid-week. They can hardly afford to rest players right now, as they are very much in the middle of a title race. However, one key player has been rested, as playmaking midfielder Lucho Gonzalez will start this game on the bench. Fabrice Abriel will get a rare start in his place. Charles Kabore has been selected as the starting defensive midfielder, with Edouard Cisse left to the bench.
Marseille Vs. Nice: Lineups
Nice haven’t exactly been a solid team this season, but their 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid setup could prove difficult to break down for Marseille. They’re a poor team offensively, but they’re fairly well organized for a team near the bottom of the table and they don’t concede too many goals.
Marseille lineup (4-3-3): Mandanda; Taiwo, Diawara, Heinze, Fanni; Kabore, Abriel, Cheyrou; Valbuena, A. Ayew, Gignac
Nice lineup (4-3-3): Ospina; Pejcinovic, Civelli, Clerc, Coulibaly; Palun, Sable, Traore; Ben Saada, Ljuboja, Mouloungui
