The Houston Dynamo grab an early lead against DC United through Will Bruin after ugly play by the visiting defence. United looked as though they had mopped up an attack in the fourth minute, but the ball ricocheted off an orange shirt and suddenly space opened up in the back for Bruin to run into. He was found with a slide-rule pass and although DC United's line would clamour for offside, he was clearly on, and he finished past Bill Hamid with a crisp low striker at the near post.
Houston Dynamo Vs. DC United: Will Bruin Gives Hosts Early Lead
Bruin then celebrated his goal by acting like a mildly concussed otter. Given the choice, I suspect he'd rather be better at scoring goals than celebrating them, but that was awful. As for DC's response, the midfields and forwards seem to be well up for this one - they've just tested Tally Hall with a bullet header and earned a corner in the process, but the defending so far has been completely and utterly laughable. They've got to get themselves together and quickly if they don't want to go further behind.
