This Shakhtar offence isn’t half bad, you know, although their finishing needs work. Luiz Adriano has now had two phenomenal chances, and he’s spurned both of them. First, a melee in the penalty area fell to him with a shooting chance, but the young Brazilian dallied, took a touch, and lost the opportunity to test Victor Valdes. Then he used his speed to blow right past both Gerard Pique and Sergio Busquets, but badly messed up the finish to toe poke wide of goal while one on one with the keeper.

Dani Alves gave the visitors yet another chance with an awful backpass that ultimately led to Willian having a chance on the volley from 40 yards at an empty net, but Dejan Stankovic he was not and the ball floated out for a goal kick. Shakhtar, despite being down a goal to Barcelona, are well on top right now at the Camp Nou. That’s not to say that Barcelona don’t look dangerous on the attack - Leo Messi just wandered through the entirety of the visiting defence to almost notch another goal for the home side, but Shakhtar are making a very good showing of themselves so far.
