Just a week after making their comebacks for Arsenal against Blackburn Rovers, both Theo Walcott and Alex Song are injury doubts after picking up knocks in the 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium. Walcott, who went off hobbling in that game with an apparent ankle injury - the same problem which had kept him out for several weeks prior to the match - may be able to make an appearance at Bloomfield Road this weekend against Blackpool, but Alex Song's knee problem will almost certainly rule the midfielder out for at least this weekend's fixture.
Theo Walcott And Alex Song Both Injury Doubts For Arsenal
It’s more bad news for Arsene Wenger’s side, who’ve been repeatedly forced to play without several key players due to a major injury crisis over the past six weeks, including captain Cesc Fabregas and vice-captain Robin van Persie. The return of Song and Walcott was supposed to have provided the squad with a much-needed lift, but should they both end up ruled out yet again it’s hard to see Arsenal turning around their mini-tailspin just yet.
