Landon Donovan has spent much of the last two years playing match after match after match. This winter was the first time Donovan had a rest in a long time and he took advantage. With this season starting with lots of matches for the Los Angeles Galaxy and then two recently for the U.S. National Team, Donovan got himself another break though. He is not in the starting lineup and not on the bench either for tonight's match at DC United, getting the evening off before a Wednesday match at Toronto FC.
DC United Vs. LA Galaxy: Lineups
DC gets Charlie Davies back from a slight groin injury that forced him to miss last week's match and is available on the bench for United. Blake Brettschneider makes his second consecutive start for United and Josh Wolff is also up top, allowing Chris Pontius to move back into his more natural midfield spot. DC should be able to challenge the LA back line with their speed from deep and with LA going with AJ DeLaGarza at right back instead of Sean Franklin, there isn't nearly as much need for DC to be cautious on the left side.
DC United: Hamid; Korb, Jakovic, White, Burch; Quaranta, Simms, McCarty, Pontius; Wolff, Brettschneider
LA Galaxy: Ricketts; Dunivant, Leonardo, Gonzalez, DeLaGarza; Magee, Beckham, Juninho, Franklin; Lopez, Angel
