Spanish La Liga, Round 36: 1-1 Draw With Levante Enough To Clinch La Liga Title For Barcelona
Seydou Keita scored Barcelona's lone goal, deftly knocking home a lovely chipped ball from the Catalans' midfield maestro Xavi. Despite having the bulk of possession, which is pretty much the norm for a Barcelona match, a bit of poor defending allowed the equalizer when Felipe Caicedo, on loan from Manchester City, took advantage of a Gerard Pique failed clearance and beat Victor Valdés. I doubt anyone will mind for the moment.
This is Barcelona’s third straight La Liga title and it’s the first time since the beginning on the 90’s that a team in the Spanish top division has won the title three years running. Barca won four straight from 1991-94. With the league title race done, Barcelona can turn their attention to the Champions League final against Manchester United in London on Saturday, May 28th.
