New York Red Bulls Vs. Chivas USA, Haltime: Justin Braun Scores Twice, But Red Bulls Equalize
Both of Braun's goals were quality, and showcased a certain versatility. The first, which came in the 6th minute, was almost a chip from the edge of the penalty area. Braun took a pass from Nick LaBrocca, cut it back, and hit a pinpoint shot from about 18 yards out. On his second, Heath Pearce sent a free kick into the area that Ante Jazic kept in bounds and tapped back to Braun, who beat Condoul.
The Red Bulls got their first equalizer when Rafael Marquez dropped a pinpoint pass from beyond the center line to Thierry Henry, who had gotten behind his mark. Henry was able to control the pass and then beat Dan Kennedy for his fifth goal in four matches. The Red Bulls got the second equalizer when Luke Rodgers drew a penalty from Heath Pearce and Dwayne De Rosario buried the kick for his first Red Bulls goal.
