Often in world football, confederations vote in blocs. When it comes to races for FIFA President that is also true and much of the talk about the upcoming vote for FIFA President between the incumbent, Sepp Blatter, and his challenger, Mohamed bin Hammam, has been about who can court which confederations.
U.S. To Ignore CONCACAF In Voting For FIFA President
↵Jack Warner, President of CONCACAF, has long been an ally of Blatter and Warner has said that he expects his confederation to stay united. According to Sports Illustrated though, United States Soccer Federation President Sunil Gulati has basically told Warner where he can put that idea, saying that the USSF will vote for who they want, not who Warner wants.

↵↵“We’ll make a decision that’s in the best interests of U.S. Soccer and what we think is good for the game internationally,” Gulati said. “What CONCACAF or the Caribbean Football Union chooses to do will be up to them. CONCACAF hasn’t announced a decision on who the leadership will support, but we know what we’re going to do.”
↵↵Warner won’t like that. I wonder if Warner will spit on Gulati, or would he not dignify his spit?
