Turns out that no, Carlos Tevez is not happy with the current state of affairs that sees him captaining Manchester City. Although he made a lot of noise about a possible move over the winter and subsequently retracted his transfer request after much cajoling from the club, the current captain has made his unhappiness abundantly clear with comments made on-air to an Argentinian radio station:

I want to leave Manchester City. Football has changed a lot for me and I don’t know if I will even make it to the next World Cup. And that has nothing to do with whether I’m selected or not. I’ve been treated very well here and I’m grateful. I also gave my everything for the club to receive the results it has had. But I need a change of scene.
Less than a week ago, Roberto Mancini had claimed that Tevez wanted to stay with the team and never had any problem over the winter after all. Someone’s telling porkies!
Realistically, if Tevez does leave, City are in a fair bit of trouble. They”re nowhere near as effective at scoring goals with their talisman absent, and with their stated desire to only draft in a few players this summer rather than continue Project Big Money Overhaul they won’t be able to adequately replace his production unless Edin Dzeko magically comes good.
