The long wait for another psychic octopus prediction, one of the finest traditions of the sport, is over. Iker the octopus, who lives in Andalucia, has chosen between Barcelona and Manchester United ahead of the 2011 UEFA Champions League final on Saturday, subbing in for the now sadly-departed Paul. Who'd he choose? The answer may surprise you:
UEFA Champions League Final, 2011: Iker the Octopus Predicts Winner

Yep, that’s Iker going for the underdog, Manchester United. His psychic credentials perhaps aren’t as strong as Paul’s were, but he did correctly pick the winner of the Copa del Rey and the 1-1 draw between Real Madrid and Barcelona earlier this season*. Does he know something we don’t? On paper, United don’t seem like they have too much of chance against the Barcelona juggernaut, but if 2010 has taught us anything, it’s to never disagree with an octopus who watches football.
We need to have him do score predictions and first scorer next.
*Note: It's entirely possible that he just picks against Barcelona all the time. He is named after Iker Casillas, after all.
