That's three quite brilliant moves by Lionel Messi and Barcelona should be ahead - but aren't. First, the forward picks the ball up on the right and cuts to the edge of the penalty box, curling a lovely attempt that's headed for the top corner if not for the intervention of Iker Casillas, who fumbles the shot and then recovers with David Villa looking to poach.

Then, Messi beats two players to skip into the box, but shoots too early and sends an effort well wide, and then he releases David Villa on the left to force Casillas into another excellent save. Pedro has a go too, but it's nothing like testing Casillas. Real Madrid's defence is starting to fall apart, now - this is starting to look like that 5-0 game. Barcelona have stepped it up a notch and it really doesn't look like Madrid are going to be able to survive until halftime unscathed.
