It's 1-0 to DC United against the Seattle Sounders at halftime thanks to a goal scored on the break by United striker Josh Wolff, whoc slide home a square ball by USA international Charlie Davies with consummate ease. Seattle spent much of the first half in enemy territory, but they've found DC rather difficult to break down (although they have had a goal disallowed), while the hosts have been more than happy to hit their guests on the counterattack with the fullbacks up the pitch, brutally exposing them on the break a number of times.
DC United Vs. Seattle Sounders: DC Lead 1-0 At Halftime
It’s been a little bit feisty as well, with two bookings handed out in the first half and a number of niggly fouls as well. Both teams have been slightly loose in possession, something that’s actually benefiting the hosts as they take advantage of turnovers in midfield, and despite the 1-0 lead I can’t imagine that DC coach Ben Olsen is particularly happy with his team’s performance. Sigi Schmid, however, will be decidedly less so.
