It looks like the Seattle Sounders are back in the thick of things after a contentious penalty decision. After conceding their second goal, Sigi Schmid has gone to a 3-5-2, and it's paid almost immediate dividends. After a flicked header from striker Nate Jaqua floated into the penalty box, Dejan Jakovic inexplicably bundled Fredy Montero to the ground, referee Hilario Grajeda immediately pointing to the spot. Jakovic wasn't happy with the decision, and the penalty did look soft, but Brad Evans cared not and put the penalty away, with goalkeeper Bill Hamid guessing the wrong way, cutting DC United's lead down to one.
DC United Vs. Seattle Sounders: Brad Evans Converts Penalty To Cut DC’s Lead
Since scoring, Seattle have gone on an attacking tear and Hamid is the only reason that the hosts are still level, first pulling off and excellent stop on an Alvaro Fernandez header and then tipping a long-range drive by Fredy Montero over the crossbar. Although they're 2-1 down, all of the momentum is with the visitors right now, and DC won't feel comfortable unless they notch another goal before full time.
