The one person crazy enough to bet on a 5-2 Liverpool win at Craven Cottage has just made themselves a lot of money. The fact that Liverpool were going to win was obvious from the outset, Maxi Rodriguez scoring two goals inside the opening ten minutes, and Dirk Kuyt making it 3-0 shortly thereafter.
Fulham Vs. Liverpool: Liverpool Earn Emphatic 5-2 Win
Fulham would grow into the game a little bit, and were the better side for the middle half hour, where they managed to grab a goal through Moussa Dembele, but fell apart again rather than mount a serious comeback, conceding twice shortly after Dembele's to a Maxi stunner (his hattrick) and a cool Luis Suarez finish.
Steve Sidwell's beautifully hit late volley did very little to change the mood - the combative midfielder refused to celebrate. It was very much Liverpool's party, and they were brilliant on the evening, carving up the Fulham defence almost at will and sending Mark Hughes into conniptions on the touchline. The win pushes Liverpool back into fifth, setting up an interesting battle with Tottenham Hotspur for the Premier League's final European slot.
