New York Red Bulls vs. New England Revolution: Thierry Henry Scores 7th Goal In Victory
Almost as soon as the opening whistle blew, there was excitement. Luke Rodgers was able to get free about 30 seconds into the match, but pushed his shot just wide.
Shalrie Joseph had a perfect opportunity to give the vistors the early advantage when he took a 33rd minute penalty. But Sutton made a diving save to his left to keep it level.
About four minutes later, the Red Bulls took the lead when Henry's centering pass was knocked into the net by Ryan Cochrane. Henry then scored in the 50th minute for a 2-0 lead. Although Zak Boggs was able to pull one back, the Revolution were never able to find the equalizer.
The win was the first for the Red Bulls since April 30, a stretch of six matches. The Revolution have now lost four straight and have won just one of their past seven and have just seven points in their past 10 after starting the season with a four-match unbeaten run.
