Spain Vs. England, UEFA European Under-21 Championships 2011: Three Lions Lineup

England's lineup for their UEFA European Under-21 Championship match against Spain is out, and it's devoid of surprises. There are a few question marks about alignment, but the players that most figured would start are out on the pitch. Michael Mancienne continues to captain the team, while Jordan Henderson and Phil Jones, who are apparently worth a combined £40 million, also make starts. England is strong down the middle, provided this is actually a three man midfield.

England lineup (4-3-3): Frank Fielding; Kyle Walker, Ryan Bertrand, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones; Michael Mancienne (c), Jordan Henderson, Tom Cleverley; Danny Rose, Daniel Sturridge, Danny Welbeck

It’s possible that this lineup could be a 4-4-2 with Henderson or Cleverley on the right side of midfield, but that sounds like a mandate to dominate the midfield for Spain. Also, this may be the first three-man front line in the history of world football in which all three forwards are named Daniel.
