After winning their first five MLS home matches, the Portland Timbers appeared well on their way to turning Jeld-Wen Field into the next great fortress. But a 1-0 loss to the Colorado Rapids now leaves them with a three-match losing streak, the last two of which have come at home. Drew Moor scored the winner in stoppage time, pouncing on a rebound after several previous attempts had been turned away.

The goal was Moor's second of the year, gave the Rapids their first win since May 4 and extended their unbeaten streak to nine matches. They have not lost since falling 1-0 to the Seattle Sounders, a game in which they played a man down for 87 minutes. That was also the last time Brian Mullan played, as he has one more match left in his 10-match suspension that he was given after breaking Steve Zakuani's leg in that April 22 encounter.
The Timbers, after looking very much like a playoff team during the first third of the season, suddenly find themselves in tied for seventh place in the Western Conference.
