Copa Libertadores Final, Peñarol Vs. Santos FC Score: 0-0 Halftime

At halftime of the first leg of the Copa Libertadores final, both Peñarol and Santos FC will be satisfied with the effort they have made so far. However, both teams will also have plenty of potential improvements in mind, as it’s been a typical cup final so far. Both teams have been slightly reserved, but have created a few half chances and it seems like there could possibly be a goal in this one, but for the moment, the score is tied up at 0-0.

Santos goalkeeper Rafael has made a huge impact on this game so far, as his aggression and command of his penalty area has denied chances for Peñarol. Their best attempt came at the very end of the half, as Rafael’s aggression caused Dario Rodriguez’s attempted chip to go over the bar.

At the start of the half, Santos were very much the aggressors, but Peñarol came into the game as the half went on. With a trip to Brazil looming, they will probably be satisfied with denying Santos an away goal, but they will need a goal of their own to feel truly comfortable.
