The knockout stages of the 2011 Gold Cup are finally here and it begins in the top half of the bracket with Costa Rica and Honduras squaring off at New Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. It's a match-up of two second-place teams from their groups after the Ticos finished behind Mexico in Group A with four points and Honduras finished secnd in Group B, also with four points.

The Ticos come into this match as the favorites with arguably the best striker in CONCACAF, Bryan Ruiz, leading the attack alongside a dangerous Marco Urena and massively underrated Celso Borges. The story for the Hondurans is who isn't there with Maynor Figueroa being left off the tournament roster at the request of his club and Wilson Palacios having yet to play in the tournament as he battles injury.
Whoever wins this match will play the winner of the second match in today’s doubleheader between Mexico and Guatemala. That semifinal will be on Wednesday at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX.
