You know things are bad when Fernando Torres is scoring against you. After keeping Spain a little bit quieter in the second half, the USA have now conceded yet another goal to the world champions. Borja Valero, on for the effervescent David Silva, wasted no time when on the ball in the midfield, sending forward a perfect through ball that carved the USA's back line in half and created space for the Chelsea striker to surge forward into.
USA Vs. Spain, 2011 International Friendly: Fernando Torres Makes It 4
Torres, who'd already missed a scorable chance earlier in the first half, made no mistake this time, taking a touch before slipping the ball beyond the reach of Tim Howard and in off the far post before falling onto the ground and apparently trying to fly. This run of poor form has really done some odd things to his head. Anyway, it's now 4-0 to Spain, but the US at least look theoretically capable of scoring in this game. Maybe.
