Copa America 2011, Mexico Vs. Uruguay: Lineups

It’s pretty simple for both Mexico and Uruguay heading into their final match in Group C of Copa America. If Uruguay wins, they’re through to the knockout stage. If Mexico wins, they are through to the group stage. Draw and the Uruguayans go on while Mexico goes home. There’s no goal difference or anything like that to figure out. Win, lose, draw, that’s all we have to know.

With that in mind, Mexico is mostly going with the players they have gone with all tournament. There is Giovani dos Santos in the attack and not much else, while they are strong at the back with Hiram Mier and Hector Reynoso in front of Luis Michel. Uruguay is going to be shorthanded as Edinson Cavani misses out with a knee injury he suffered in the last match, meaning that Diego Forlan will have to play much better than he has to this point in the tournament.

Mexico: Luis Michel, Paul Aguilar, Hiram Mier, Hector Reynoso, Nestor Araujo, Darvin Chavez, Diego Reyes, Jorge Enriquez, Javier Aquino, Giovani dos Santos, Rafael Marquez Lugo

Uruguay: Fernando Muslera, Maxi Pereira, Diego Lugano, Sebastian Coates, Alvaro Pereira, Alvaro Gonzalez, Diego Perez, Egidio Arevalo Rios, Cristian Rodriguez, Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez
