Brazil's first effort on goal come through Ramires and wasn't particularly close to troubling anyone. Their next effort was far more dangerous. Alexandre Pato was given acres of space on the left, and the AC Milan forward duly surged down the flank before cutting back into the penalty area and trying to cross for club teammate Robinho. Paraguay's defence managed to get in the way, deflecting the ball away from the immediate danger- and too a very different one.
Copa America 2011 Quarterfinals, Brazil Vs. Paraguay: Neymar Misses Good Chance; Still 0-0
Neymar had been following in and arrived at the top of the box at the same time as the ball did. Not bothering to control, he unleashed a fizzing shot towards Justo Villar's goal. Paraguay were relieved to see the ball ultimately buzz inches over the crossbar. It didn't look as though there was much Villar could have done about that. It's still 0-0 in the first half at the Ciudad de La Plata.
