Brazil kick us off to get the second half underway. The first ended 0-0, and that's not a result the favourites will be best pleased with - they'll be pushing forward to try to nab a goal (or two, or three) this half, especially with the risk that the likes of Lucas Barrios will be able to sneak in a poach a goal during Paraguay's rare ventures forwards.Within the first few minutes of the half, they very nearly got it.
Copa America 2011 Quarterfinals, Brazil Vs. Paraguay: Second Half Underway; Another Chance Falls To Neymar
Excellent work by Ramires saw Brazil retain possession in the final third, and the ball was eventually shuttled to Neymar on the left - who may well have been offisde, on replay. Paraguay's defence had been sucked towards the middle, and Neymar was free to smash in a cross-cum-shot from ten yards out. It would have gone straight in with Justo Villar helpless if not for a very timely intervention from Aureliano Torres, who managed to hook the ball out on its way to the back of the net. That's a statement of intent from the Brazilians, then. Surely we can't stay scoreless for long?
