It hasn’t really been Neymar’s tournament, and it definitely hasn’t been his day. After three good chances to score, two int he first half and one in the early stages of the second, he appears to have tweaked his right knee while attempting a free kick (the very one that Alexandre Pato nearly scored from), and after attempting a few minutes of limping around he’s been forced to withdraw, Fred coming on in his place.
Copa America 2011 Quarterfinals, Brazil Vs. Paraguay: Neymar Injury Forces Teenager Off
I don't think that Neymar's injury will be too serious, considering he was still running (albeit not very well) after sustaining it, but it's still hardly good news for the 19-year-old. Oh, and speaking of substitutions, Paraguay have made their third, with Lucas Barrios being withdrawn for Hernan Perez. Paraguay are in this for the long haul now.
Brazil, meanwhile, have seen three fantastic scoring chances come to naught - Fred early scored with his first touch of the game, Pato was then denied by a fine stop by Justo Villar and then Fred popped up once again with a firm header that beat the goalkeeper only to be cleared off the line by Edgar Barreto. Amazing scenes. It's still 0-0. Somehow.
