Mexico Star Pavel Pardo Signs With Chicago Fire
After a successful career playing for some of Mexico’s biggest clubs, Pardo moved onto Europe where he spent several seasons with Vfb Stuttgart. Among his more notable accomplishments there was helping lead the Reds to 2006-07 Bundesliga title, their first since 1992.
“Pavel is a very talented player who can help our team,” Technical Director and interim Head Coach Frank Klopas said in a team release. “Pavel’s international credentials and track-record as a professional were defining factors in us bringing Pavel to the Fire. He will provide additional depth in the midfield as we push for a playoff spot in the second half of the MLS season.”
The 35-year-old central midfielder most recently played for Club America. He has the second most caps in Mexican history, appearing 148 times for El Tri. As part of the move, the Fire also released Bratislav Ristic in order to make room on the roster.
