Fiorentina Transfer Rumors: Viola Still Hopeful Of Landing Alberto Aquilani

Despite rumors swirling about that Fiorentina had failed in their bid for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani, the Italian is still hopeful of a move to Florence. The problem is that Aquilani wants the Viola to put a ring on it -- apparently his short relationship with Juventus last season has left him feeling a bit burned, and he's looking for more of a commitment than just a season-long loan.

Liverpool, meanwhile, should just come right out and say they've got no use for Aquilani in their already overcrowded midfield, and encourage clubs to buy rather than loan. Fiorentina will be looking to fill a Riccardo Montolivo shaped hole, and considering Aquilani is willing to take a pay cut, it seems like the details should be simple enough to iron out. No wonder his agent is still stating that the transfer will go through. Keep an eye out for Aquilani to return to Italy.
