New York Red Bulls Vs. DC United: Dwayne De Rosario Haunts Former Team

Dwayne De Rosario came back to haunt his former team, scoring the only goal in DC United's 1-0 win over the New York Red Bulls on Saturday. It was De Rosario's first goal in a United uniform, but his second game with a point. Josh Wolff assisted on the goal.

The win moved United into playoff position with 22 points. That 22 points also equals their total of a year ago, needing 13 fewer games to get there.

Courtesy of their 4-0 win earlier in the season, though, the Red Bulls win this year’s Atlantic Cup. That will be of little solace to the Red Bulls, though. The loss is another frustrating result for a team that started the season with designs on claiming their first ever Supporters’ Shield. The Red Bulls have won just tow of their past 13 matches.

For United, the win continues a solid run of form in which they have lost just once in their past 10 matches. During that time, they have gone 3-1-6.
