It's probably too soon to be making any kind of bold predictions about when David Ferreira may be able to play again, but at least he appears to be training. It now looks like FC Dallas is hoping to have the 32-year-old reigning MVP back by September.
David Ferreira Makes Appearance At FC Dallas Training, Eyes September Return
Reigning MLS MVP could be back in time to help FC Dallas close out their regular season, make a final push in the CCL group stage and even appear in a U.S. Open Cup final.

A September return could be a huge boost for FC Dallas’ MLS title hopes and their chances for getting out of the CONCACAF Champions League group stage. If Ferreira was back by Sept. 10, for instance, that would mean he would be able to play in the Toros’ final seven regular season games, as well as four CCL group stage games. It could also mean that he would be available if FC Dallas were to advance to the U.S. Open Cup finals.
In the meantime, his teammates seem to be doing just fine without him. Since his injury on April 23 in a game against the Vancouver Whitecaps, Dallas has gone 10-2-5 and moved to within three points of the Los Angeles Galaxy in the Supporters' Shield race.
