Bayern München forward Ivica Olic was injured Saturday in the Bundesliga clash against Hamburg. The Croatian international was injured in the act of scoring the fifth and final goal for Bayern in their 5-0 route. Olic was making just his second appearance since being out for over nine months after suffering damage to the meniscus and cartilage in his left knee.
Ivica Olic Injury: Out Two Months With Hip Injury
Ivica Olic suffers a partial rupture of a tendon in his hip while scoring a goal in Bayern München’s 5-0 route of Hamburg on Saturday.

Olic, 31, dove to direct a Holger Badstuber header into the back of the net and collided heavily with Hamburg defender Jeffrey Bruma. He was diagnosed post-match with pelvic bruising, but further review have determined that he has suffered a partial rupture of a tendon in his hip. He is expected to be out for 6-8 weeks.
With Olic missing Bayern will be forced to rely heavily on Mario Gomez up top. The main backup will be 22 year old Nils Petersen. Petersen made only a few appearances in the 2008-2009 Bundesliga season for Energie Cottbus, but he featured significantly for the club for the last two seasons in the 2.Bundesliga. The other alternative would be to move Thomas Müller up top and bring on Toni Kroos to fill the spot vacated by Müller.
