SSC Napoli are gearing up for their Champions League campaign by adding depth to their forward line. The team is reportedly on the verge of signing Inter Milan's Macedonian forward Goran Pandev for a fee believed to be in the region of €8M. It's difficult to see the 28-year-old breaking into a starting lineup that contains Ezequiel Lavezzi, Edinson Cavani and Marek Hamsik, but Napoli showed last year that they're exceptionally vulnerable when any one of that trio is missing, and Pandev should be useful in filling in whenever one of trinity is missing.
Napoli Making Moves: Goran Pandev In, Victor Ruiz Out?
Napoli are on the verge of signing Goran Pandev while rumours swirl that Victor Ruiz is on the way out.

In the meantime, it sounds like their defensive depth is taking a hit, with Victor Ruiz heading back to Spain. The centre half joined Napoli in the January transfer window from Espanyol, but reports out of Italy are suggesting that the Partonopei are willing to let Ruiz go back to La Liga - specifically Valencia for a fee believed to be between €6-7M. The move is slightly questionable with defender Miguel Britos out injured for an unknown period of time, but it's entirely possible that Napoli needed to sell to buy at this point, and desperately wanted to bring Pandev in. Or the Ruiz rumours could be imaginary. Who knows!
