Barcelona are on the board and lead FC Porto by a score of 1-0 in the 2011 UEFA Super Cup, but it was a downright gift. Lionel Messi was the goal scorer (surprise!) and his finish was fantastic, but he never should have been in a position to score in the first place. Thanks to a terrible mistake by Porto midfielder Fredy Guarin, who has having a very good match up until his error, Barcelona have a lead that it would be surprising to see them relinquish.

Incredibly, Guarin was the man who assisted Messi on his 39th minute goal, hitting what amounted to a perfect through ball while attempting to win a 50-50 challenge in midfield. Guarin’s ball completely eluded his defense and fell right to Messi, who would have been miles offside if it wasn’t a Porto player who gave him the ball. He rounded Helton and chipped the ball into the back of the net, finishing off a typical Leo Messi goal.
