For a club that's meant to challenge for the scudetto, it sure seemed as though Inter Milan were doing their best to make this season as hard as possible on themselves. They lost a reliable squad player when Goran Pandev went to Napoli, but more significantly, lost their highest scorer when Samuel Eto'o moved on to Anzhi. But finally the nerazzurri have made a major signing of their own, nabbing Diego Forlan from Spanish side Atletico Madrid. The 32-year-old Uruguayan had eight goals with Atletico last season, but surely Inter are hoping he'll replicate his form of the previous year, when he scored 18 in La Liga.
Diego Forlan Set To Leave Atletico Madrid For Inter Milan

While Forlan is certainly a strong player, it seems doubtful he'll be able to replace the world-class Eto'o, who scored 34 goals in all competitions for Inter last season. The nerazzurri will undoubtedly be looking for Giampaolo Pazzini to also bear the goalscoring burden -- the forward scored 11 goals in 17 matches for Inter last season.
