Joe Cole Close To Moving On Loan To Lille From Liverpool FC

After a much-hyped summer move in 2010, Joe Cole had a tough go at Liverpool last season. The versatile England international midfielder doesn't seem to be in Kenny Dalglish's plans for this season, leading to all kinds of speculation about a move to another club in the English Premier League. However, it now appears that Cole will be heading to Lille OSC in Ligue 1 on loan.

Lille lost Gervinho to Arsenal in this transfer window, but was able to retain their other young superstars on their front line, striker Moussa Sow and playmaking winger Eden Hazard...or at least they have for the time being. Though most would agree that Cole is a downgrade from Gervinho, a front like of Sow, Hazard and Cole would make a formidable combination up top for Lille. They have two wins, one draw and one loss from their first four league games and are expected to challenge for Champions League places once again.
