Getafe have secured the services of former prodigy Real Madrid winger Pedro Leon on a season-long loan, and the move has now been confirmed by Madrid, who've announced it on their official site. The loan includes an option to but at the end and sees Pedro Leon's salary split down the middle, which is a pretty good deal for Getafe, especially when you consider that Madrid's first proposal was to insert a loan-to-buy clause at the end of it.
Getafe Transfer News: Pedro Leon Loan Deal Confirmed
Pedro Leon is no Cristiano Ronaldo, but then again very few are. Instead, he's a perfectly serviceable winger with an emotional connection to the club, having excelled with them in the 2009/10 season. Following that year, where he scored eight times, he was bought by Madrid for €10M and proceeded to spend most of his time rotting on the bench, where he made only six appearances. Madrid, one would think, are happy to have playing time, Getafe have an upgrade and Pedro Leon gets to actually play football. Nice.
