Bundesliga Saturday, Halftime: Bayern Munich Dominating Freiburg, Borussia Dortmund Struggling

Halftime Scores Update

Bayern Munich 3 - 0 SC Freiburg

Bayern have put on a master class performance in the first half led by Franck Ribery. The French winger produced two magnificent goals in the first half including a pretty little backheel. The other goal was scored by, you guessed it, 'Super' Mario Gomez. He would've had a second, but his header was right at Freiburg goalkeeper Oliver Baumann. Freiburg has found it difficult to create much of anything with Bastian Schweinsteiger and Luis Gustavo controlling the midfield. For Freiburg to get anything in this second half, they need to figure out a way to get Papiss Cisse involved.

Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Hertha Berlin

Jürgen Klopp decided to replace the suspended Mario Götze with Jakub Blaszczykowski instead of my recommendation of Ivan Perisic. Of course, Dortmund are currently dominating Hertha but can’t find the back of the net. If Hertha can manage an early goal in this second half then the pressure builds on the Dortmund attack. I think it’s only a matter of time in the second half before Dortmund gets a goal or three. Look for the brilliant Shinji Kagawa to create something out of nothing.

Borussia Mönchengladbach 0 - 0 Kaiserslautern

Gladbach will be pushing during the second half to get the victory over lowly Kaiserslautern. Marco Reus needs to take control in the second half, and Gladbach will grab a goal or two.

Mainz 05 0 - 2 Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim haven't been the better team in the first half, but they've taken their chances well and lead 2-0 at the break. Roberto Firmino with an early goal, and Ryan Babel doubled the lead just before halftime with a penalty. There's still an opportunity for Mainz to come back in this one, but they'll need to get an early goal and restore some confidence.

Stuttgart 1 - 0 Hannover 96

Shinji Okazaki scored the goal for Stuttgart to put them in the lead over the visitors from Hannover. The match has been fairly even throught the first half, and I predict we'll see more goals in the second half.
