Tom Cleverley left Manchester United’s thrashing of Bolton with what appeared to be a serious foot injury - the midfielder turns out to have sustained ligament damage and will be missing for a month.

    Sir Alex Ferguson Says Tom Cleverely Appears To Have Broken Foot

    “We think it is a broken foot,” said Ferguson. “It is unfortunate, but we expected it. It was a bad tackle.”

    If Cleverley does have a broken foot then he would be out for quite a while. Three months tends to be a common timeline for recovery from a broken foot, but this non-doctor has no access to his x-rays nor would he know how to read them so take that for what it’s worth. Broken or not, it’s a shame to see Cleverley go down, although the way United is playing it doesn’t look like it will matter much because they are borderline unstoppable at the moment.
